Making Tags (Without a Die)

I recently needed a quick gift as a thank you to someone who loves to bake. Luckily, I had the “Baked with Love” stamp set from lawn fawn and could whip up a quick set of tags to attach to their baked goods. Tags are not only a good way to dress up your gifts but you can also write a nice note or even recipe on the back! If you want to see how I made my tags (without a die) you can watch the video below!

You can make your tags any size you want to, but for today I started with four pieces of white card stock cut down to 3″ x 4″. Using my ruler I made a light pencil mark at the top center of the tag, 1.5″ for mine, and also 1″ down from the top on both the left and right side. Now I could line up each rectangle in my paper trimmer and connect the center mark to a side mark and cut! I did this on both sides on all of the tags for a nice pointed top.

Using my MISTI and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink I stamped the sentiment “Baked With Love” on the bottom quarter of each tag. Each of my tags were stamped with different images. Two I kept very simple with just one image each, the mixer and the rolling pin (with a little smile stamped on it) were stamped right above the sentiments in the center. The other two I stamped little scene, but again these were kept pretty basic. Finally, in the center under each of the sentiment I stamped a tiny little heart.

All of tags were colored with alcohol markers, but the point is to make this quick and easy for you, so use whatever coloring medium you’re comfortable with!  Now mine did bleed through, but I didn’t really mind that since nothing will be written on the back of these tags. If you’re worried about this you could double up the tags or add a small piece of card stock to the back to cover any bleed through. I also added clear Wink of Stella to the two tags that only had one image. Finally, I used a basic hole punch to punch a hole at the top of each tag and then used twine for my string!

Along with my tags, I also made a box with my envelope punch board to be able to present them. If you want to see how I made the box, make sure to come back Monday for the video!Teaser Card

These tags were such a fun and easy gift to make! They were also a nice change up from a standard card to say thank you! If you want to check out any of the supplies I used today they’re all linked below!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy Crafting!!
