Perfect Pearls

Perfect Pearls are one of those products that has so many fun uses. They’re something you don’t really need, but they are such fun to play with and experimenting with. Also, there is no comparing the shine you can get with these to any other product! On today’s card I used Perfect Pearls and Versamark Ink to do a bit of stamping and create a really SHINY card. I also added some foil for even more shine. Make sure to watch the video below to see exactly how I made today’s card!!

Starting with a piece of dark red card stock I adhered three strips of double sided adhesive, the very thin stuff, across the panel. I used my bone folder to burnish each adhesive strip down and then using rose gold deco foil I burnished it down onto the adhesive as well. Then, with Versamark ink I stamped the ornament stamp from the “Merry & Bright” stamp set from Two Paper Divas numerous times to fill up the foiled adhesive strips. The Versamark ink served in place of “Perfect Medium” as a sticky surface for the Perfect Pearls to stick to. Using “Perfect Bronze” perfect pearls, to match the rose gold foil and the brush that came with my perfect pearls kit, I dusted on some the pigment powder. Then, using a clean brush and a dry baby wipe I swept the remaining powder away into the trash can. You could try and save some of the excess powder, but it is pretty hard with this fine of a powder.

I sat this panel aside for a bit and worked on a frame. By doing a bit of die cut inlaying using a straight and scalloped rectangle. I also used a circle die and die cut a quarter circle from the inside rectangle. This would serve as a place to put my sentiment. And finally, before I put the card together, I used my Vintage Photo mini ink pad to color the front edges of an A2 top folding card base. I choose to color the edges of my card base just to make it easier to write on the inside without adding an extra panel. It also allows me to use my white card stock for a card base no matter what.

To put this card together I first stamped the “A Little Sparkle, A lot of Shine” sentiment from the “Yes to Sprinkles” in Versamark ink on my quarter circle die cut and then again, put some of the same Perfect Bronze Perfect Pearls over the stamped sentiment. After adhereing my kraft frame with Glossy Accents over the dark red panel I popped up the sentiment quarter circle in the bottom left hand corner using double sided adhesive and fun foam. Finally, I adhered the entire panel onto the card base with double sided adhesive.

A few tips on working with Perfect Pearls in this way. One, a spritz of water on the finished project will set your perfect pearls and they will not rub off. I didn’t do that this time, but if you’re going to be mailing your card, it’s a good idea to take this extra step. Perfect Pearls can be a messy product, a few ways to deal with this is dusting any unused product off over the trash can and using a Swiffer dusting cloth to catch all the extra glitter. This is one project I don’t try and save all the excess from, it really just isn’t worth it! Finally, have fun and experiment! Perfect Pearls are a product with so many uses and just fun to play around with!
