Then, head over the Joy Clair Blog and enter a card of your own to be eligible to win the prize!!! You have until the end of this month, so HURRY!!
To create this graphic background I started with an A2 top folding white card base and masked off the back of the card base with a piece of painter’s tape to protect it from any ink. Using my T-square ruler, the grid mat on my surface and a pencil I created a graph on the surface of the card base. I drew lines horizontally every half ink and vertical lines every inch and a half. This created rectangles on my card base that fit my mustache stamp from the Candy Hearts Stamp Set exactly. I used two different Memento ink colors (Angel Pink and Rhubarb Stalk), alternating between the two to create a checker board pattern, to stamp my mustaches in the rectangles, making sure they lined up with the mustaches above and to the side of the them. When I was finished with the stamping on the card base I removed the painter’s tape and had a perfectly symmetrical graphic background that only need a sentiment!
For my sentiment I used the solid candy hearts from the same set and stamped them onto a white die cut circle using my MISTI and the Angel Pink ink. Inside each of the solid hearts I stamped a sentiment, again from the same set, in the Rhubarb Stalk Ink to make them look like real candy hearts! I also adhered a glitter frame around the circle die cut to really allow the circle to pop away from the background. To make the frame I just did a bit of die cut inlay with two different sized circle dies and I adhered it down with multi medium matte adhesive.
The last thing to do, to finish this card was to adhere the circle sentiment onto the card base. I used double sided adhesive and fun foam to give it a bit of dimension. To add a bit of shimmer to the candy hearts I gave them a liberal coat of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and finished the card off with a few Valentine’s Sequins adhering them down with Glossy Accents!
