Who is ready for another FABULOUS new release from Joy Clair Stamps?? This month, Joy Clair is releasing FIVE new stamps. Two sets are being added to the Color by Faith Stamp Line. They are called Be Brave and Prayer Warrior. Three new sets are being added to the Every Day Stamp Sets Line. They are called Aztec Background Builder, Wild and Free, and Happy Camper. All of these sets play so well together! You are able to mix and match stamps from different stamps set, like I did on my card today, to create one of a kind projects! For today’s card, I combined the Happy Camper Stamp Set and Wild and Free sets to create a masked scene that filled an entire card front! Be sure to watch the video tutorial below, but don’t forget to keep on hopping for your chance to win a $25 Gift Card to the Joy Clair Shop!!
Before I even started filming this video, I made several masks. I stamped the fire, camper and two trees, from the Happy Camper stamp set, onto masking paper and then fussy cut them. (I always leave this portion out of my video tutorials, because it’s pretty boring to be honest!) Starting with a 4″ x 5.25″ white card stock panel, my MISTI and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink I began stamping my scene beginning with the fire, as it was my most fore front object. After masking off the fire, I moved on and stamped my camper, also masking it off afterwards. I wanted a row of trees behind my camper, so I stamped five trees, making off as I went and joining the ground lines together to form a horizon line. My final images, the mountains, I actually pulled from the “Wild and Free” stamp set and I stamped them behind my trees and camper. Then came my favorite part, removing the masks and revealing a complete and intricate scene!
To color in my scene I chose to use my colored pencils and blend them out with OMS and blending stumps. When coloring large scenes like this, I do try and carry certain colors across my entire card front. Also, unless I’m coloring a more cartoonish scene, I always try and keep my colors pretty true to real life. For my scene today, I also wanted that camper to really pop out from the scene, so I chose really bright and bold colors to color it in!
I chose to add the “Wander with Purpose” sentiment to my card. Using my MISTI and Versafine Onyx Black Ink, I stamped the sentiment in the top left hand corner of the panel. To add a bit more pop to the sentiment I did heat emboss it with clear embossing powder. Finally, I popped up the panel onto an A2 side folding card base with fun foam and double sided adhesive!
