Welcome to the first official day of full reveals from this month’s Craftin Desert Divas New Release! Today, I’m sharing a first look at the brand new Buildings Dies and also the Caped Crusaders Stamp Set. Be sure to head back often this week, because this new die set also coordinates perfectly with another new stamp set that will be revealed in a few days. Also, there are so many great stamp sets and another die set that are utterly fabulous, trust me you won’t want to miss any of them!! If you want to be sure you’re up to date on this release, head over to the Facebook Release Event and click the “Going” button. There are some great Freebies and Giveaways going on and you’ll be the first to know when the release is live and available for purchase in the CDD Shop! If you want a closer look at how I made this card you can watch the video tutorial below!
ENJOY!!
This card, though small, was quite the labor of love and I highly recommend watching the video tutorial for all the details! First, I die cut the two buildings from the new “Buildings” die set from black card stock and glued them onto yellow card stock. These I sat aside to dry and then trimmed about the buildings for an easy way to achieve some color to my windows. I also die cut the stitched rectangle from the Fancy Frame Dies for my background panel. Using Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks along with my Mini Ink Blending Tool and painter’s tape, I masked out and inked up a colorful starburst to fully cover the stitched rectangle.
With the brand new Caped Crusaders stamp set and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, I stamped out two of the little superhero/villain critters onto white card stock. Using my alcohol markers I quickly colored in both of the images and fussy cut them out. I do want to mention that I do fussy cut my images, however, Craftin Desert Divas does offer SVG files for all of their stamp sets and they’re only $0.99!!! I also stamped the sentiment “Sending Lots of Smiles You Way” from the stamp set in the top left hand corner of the stitched rectangle with black dye ink, doing this before putting all the extra pieces on allowed for a better and easier stamped image.
To put this card together, I popped up the buildings with fun foam and double sided adhesive on the bottom of the stitched rectangle. I also adhered down my little caped crusaders with double sided adhesive at this point. Finally, I adhered the entire panel onto a 4-Bar top folding white note card using more double side adhesive. To add a bit of sparkle I adhered a few gold and black sequins from the “Lucky” sequin mix using Glossy Accents to secure them down!
Be sure to head over to the Release Event to see all the ways the DT has used these fun, brand new sets! I know this stamp and die set are going to be very well loved in my stash! Also, the stitching on this die set matches all of the other CDD dies, so you can easily combine for some awesome scene making!!
