Today is a little different, I don’t have a video tutorial for you, but I do have two cards! The catch is I only created ONE background! I was able to make the most of my digital stamps by creating one 4.25″ x 5.5″ and cutting it up to create two separate cards! Keep reading below to see how I did it!
To create the background I started in Photoshop Elements with a new blank 4.25″ x 5.5″ project. Using the three coffee bean digital stamp that is included in the “Daily Grind” digital stamp from Craftin Desert Divas, I placed it on the background and kept duplicating it to fill up the entire panel.
After printing the panel with my laser printer, I colored in all the beans with two shades of dark brown for a bit of color variation and shading. After trimming the panel to it’s proper 4.25″ x 5.5″ size I cut out the middle with the stitched rectangle die from the Fancy Frame Dies. This will allow me to use the center of the panel which will be covered on one card and make the most of the full paper.
For my first card, I first adhered the outline of the panel onto an A2 top folding white card base. Then, came a scalloped rectangle die cut that I cut from kraft card stock, Finally, I popped up a scalloped circle die cut with the “Perfect Blend” digital stamp that I had colored with my alcohol markers, using fun foam and double sided adhesive for the dimension. To embellish this card I adhered a few Shimmer Sequins.
For my second card I used the center cut that I had die cut with a stitched rectangle. Using a smaller stitched rectangle I cut an opening in the very top center of this die cut and also used the same die to cut a piece of white card stock. I also used one of the banners from the Fancy Frames Dies and the large scalloped rectangle from the same set to cut a banner and the rectangle from black card stock. I adhered the scalloped black rectangle first, onto an A2 top folding white card base and then popped up the patterned rectangle. The white stitched rectangle, after stamping “Sending” from the Wishful Thoughts Stamp Set, I inlaid into the opening. Finally came the black card stock banner that now had a white embossed “hugs” sentiment on it. To embellish this card I used a few of the Sweet Sixteen Sequins.
I love making the most of my supplies and this definitely was a great way to really stretch the use of not only my digital stamps, but also other supplies and time!
