I have never created a full page layout that is completely watercolored in, so that’s what I went for today. I created a scene by stamping in waterproof black dye ink and using the brand new Anchor of Hope stamp set. I also used my Micron Pen to add in sand lines to complete the underwater scene.
I don’t treat my Bible pages before working on them, so I do have to be careful when using watercolors. The trick is to use as little water as possible and work in layers. Also, the color doesn’t move around as well and tends to soak into the paper more quickly so I move quickly and work in sections as well.
To add bits of interest into the finished page I brought back out my Micron pen to add more richness back into the lines and also dots under all of the “sand hills” to resemble actual sand. Finally, I added white gel pen lines to the waves and bubbles in the water to create the look of water.
This page was really a lot of fun to put together and I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out. This new stamp set is so beautiful and allowed me to create a fantastic scene in my Bible that I can turn back to and look at time and time again!
