Today, I am not only on my blog, but I am also over on the Joy Clair Stamps Blog as well, sharing a bit more of my Bible Journaling. This month, the Joy Clair DT was tasked with sharing different ways to add bling to your projects and one of my favorite ways to add some sparkle and shine is to use heat embossing! I had never attempted heat embossing in my Bible Journaling, but I have to say it was much easier to achieve than I expected! If you want to watch the full process of creating this Journal page, you can waatch the full video tutorial below!
ENJOY!!
For this journaling I am using the “God’s Army” Stamp Set that is part of the Color by Faith Series from Joy Clair Stamps and working in 2 Timothy 2:1-5. To start, I first distressed the edges with a bit of Antique Linen & Vintage Photo Distress Inks. Moving onto the background, I wanted to create a camo pattern. Using several different colors of Distress Inks, I stamped the different shapes, making sure to overelap some to create it.
In the top right hand corner, I stamped the dog tags from the set, in a waterproof black dye ink. After masking, and stamping around them, I pulled out my Perfect Pearls and did a bit of silver watercolor to color them in. For the sentiment, I used the “I am a soldier”, and stamped with Versamark Ink and then heat embossed with silver. To help separate the sentiment from the background I used my Micron pen to add some shadow effects.
To see the little tips and tricks I used to heat emboss in my Bible Journaling be sure to watch the full video tutorial above! It was much more simple to achieve than I thought it would be! I used silver and gold embossing powder to blend in with the camo background, Versamark Ink to stamp with and was sure all the ink was dry and to use my embossing bag.
