Hello Everyone!! Today, not only am I on my own blog, but I am also sharing over on the Joy Clair Stamps Blog as well! This month, the Joy Clair DT was tasked with using our favorite Joy Clair stamp set. After searching through my sets I knew I wanted to use the “Let’s Celebrate” set. This set is one of my absolute FAVORITE sets to make birthday cards with masked scenes. I have already used this set once in a video tutorial and if you want to check out that card as well, you can head HERE. If you want to watch a bit of colored pencil coloring on kraft card stock you can watch the full video tutorial down below!
For all the details on how I put this card together, be sure to watch the video tutorial above! Or you can head on over to the Joy Clair Stamps Blog for all the info as well!!
As I said above, the DT’s task this month was to create a project using one of your absolute favorite Joy Clair Stamp Sets, and this is one of my all time favorites. There are so many possibilities for this set! It’s perfect for anyone’s birthday and the confetti and balloons included in the set make it so incredibly versatile!!! I also adore the font of the sentiments!!!
Something I have been trying to do lately is decorate the inside of my cards and make them just as pretty as the outside. I’ve noticed that I actually give cards more often when the inside is decorated and it makes my life a lot easier, especially when I’m in a hurry! For the inside of this card, I used the little cupcake and make a wish sentiment included in the sentiment. I colored the cupcake with my colored pencils and used the same colors on the inside that did on the outside. Finally, I used the square confetti stamps in the set to create a rainbow confetti circle around the sentiment and stamp.
I did use my colored pencils on kraft on the outside of the card and worked in rainbow colors. If you have a hard time blending, you can use Gamsol and blending stumps, but I just blended using three shades of one color. To finish off the outside of the card, I added some Ranger Enamel Accents in Glacier White and Black Tie to add some dimension.
This was such a simple and fun card to make. You could definitely use this design and set for any age or gender birthday, which is probably why I love it so much! Be sure and head over to the Joy Clair Stamps Blog and follow along this month as the DT shares more projects using their favorite stamp set!
