Awhile ago, I made a very CAS card using the dimensional die cutting technique to add interest to that overly simple card. Today, I wanted to share with you another way to use that same technique, using only dies on the card to create another CAS card that has quite a bit of dimension for added interest. Be sure and watch the video tutorial below to see exactly how I used the dimensional die cutting technique to create a fun birthday card!
I love making CAS cards and love keeping a lot of white space on those type of cards. However, I still want them to be visually interesting. Dimensional die cutting is one way I can achieve both of those things when making CAS cards. But even if you aren’t into CAS cards and love creating another style, this technique is one that will fit into any type of cardmaking design you choose to make!
For this card, I knew I wanted to use my balloon dies from Simon Says Stamp. I love this die set that I have, but this technique is one you can achieve with any dies you may have on hand. Another way to achieve the same look of balloons, without a special die set, is to use circle dies! Also, so many companies have fabulous balloon die sets you can certainly choose any that you can see yourself using over and over!
For my color combo on this card, I kept it very “boy” or “Masculine” themed, but the awesome thing about this card design is that you can switch up the color combo to any that you choose to! Rainbow, pinks, purple, gold, silver, you name it! All you need to do is pick an occassion or recipient and tailor the card choices to them!
I hope you all enjoyed this second card using the dimensional die cutting technique, and if you want to check out my previous post, including the video tutorial, you can head HERE!
