Hello Everyone! This month, Joy Clair Stamps is teaming with Rinea Foil so I wanted to share with you a few techiques that you can use with this amazing foil paper and Joy Clair Stamps to create some really fun and beautiful cards. Today, I will be sharing how you can die cut and emboss, both dry and heat, the Rinea Paper Foil. I’m also throwing in a few other pointers and techniques so be sure and watch the video tutorial below!
For my first card, I used the gold foil sheet and ran it through my Big Kick with a wood grain embossing folder. To distress the embossing now on the paper, I used a sanding block to rub away a bit of the gold and roughen up the shine. I also lightly smooshed on a bit Versamark Ink along the edges and raised parts of the paper, then heat embossed some Gold Glitter Embossing Powder. For this card, I used the Faith Quotes stamp set for my sentiment and kept this card very CAS.
On my second card I used the brand new Out of This World Stamp Set to create a fun space themed card. The first thing I did was create a Galaxy Sky background. Be sure and watch the tutorial above to see exactly how I did it and a few pointers on laying down your ink as well as creating your stars! After stamping, coloring, and fussy cutting my stamped images (I used the little spaceship and earth stamp), I moved onto to creating my moon with the Silver Rinea Foil. After cutting the foil with a large circle die, I used a circle stencil and a stylus to emboss different sized circles onto the foil. All I had to do was lay down the foil on top of a piece of fun foam, then I put the stencil on top of the foil and used the stylus to go around the circles an emboss the foil. I then completely put the card together and added a sentiment to top it off!
For my final card, I wanted to share a more detailed die cutting with the foil so I went for a cloud border die with stitching detail to show you just how beautifully this foil will die cut. I used the blue foil to die cut with the cloud border so I could inlay it into blue card stock for a tone on tone sky background with a bit (or whole lot) of shine. I also used a green border along the bottom of the card to create my grass. I wanted to use the brand new Fly With Me set for this card and I stamped both balloons and all of the clouds onto white card stock for my card. After coloring and fussy cutting them all, I popped them up onto the shiny sky and finally stamped my sentiment along the bottom of the grassy border to finish off the entire card!
If you didn’t already, be sure and watch the video tutorial above where you can find all of the details on each one of these cards! There was so much, I couldn’t even begin to type out all of the tips and tricks and techniques included in the video above!
