Have you entered a card of your own in the #cddmonthly challenge yet?? You still have one week left!!! The mood board this month is gorgeous and the color palette is incredible and so much fun to play around with! For my card today I used a few different digital stamp sets to do a bit of digital stamp layering. I layered both in my computer program and also on the card as I was creating! Be sure and watch the video tutorial below to see exactly how I did it!! And I did put this card together while filming the new and improved CDD Digital Stamp Video (using FREE programs this time), so for that portion head HERE! And below is the rest!!!
After printing out my images with my laser printer, I first trimmed out the panel and colored it in with my alcohol markers. Next up, I used my alcohol markers to color in the other flowers I printed off. Then, so I could layer up all of the images, I fussy cut the panel flowers and all of the other single flowers as well. Running a black marker around the cut edges really helps clean up my fussy cutting and make the entire thing look more “put together”.
On an A2 card base I started blending on Peacock Feathers Distress Ink with my mini ink blending tool, starting at the bottom. As I moved toward I top, I got lighter with my ink and then I switched colors and brought in Antique Linen for the top of my blending. Blending back and forth between the two colors where they meet will leave you with a very cool gradient effect!
This card was super easy to layer up. I first adhered the main panel to the bottom of the base with fun foam and double sided adhesive. Then with liquid adhesive only I glued on the long stem rose, making sure to tuck the end behind the main panel. Finally, I popped up the final flower in the bottom right hand corner with more fun foam for my third layer on the card. In the flower bunch at the top there was a bit of blank space where I was able to tuck my sentiment from the Simply Said Stamp Set. To finish off the card, I glued my last flower inside with multi medium matte in the bottom left hand corner. Also, I did cut all overhang flush with the base for a nice finish!
I hope you too will enter a card into the Craftin Desert Divas September Challenge!! Like I said above, you have a week left to head over to the Facebook Group and add your photo to be eligible for some awesome prizes!!! I hope to see your card there!!
