Today is the first wrap up day of the October Release from Craftin Desert Divas. Yesterday all of the new goodies were added into the Shop, you can find them HERE, and if you haven’t picked up your favorites, be sure and do so quickly!!! Today I’m sharing a few of my final cards, and I will have a few more tomorrow with another video tutorial so be sure to come back and check it out!!
For my first card I used the brand new Oh What Fun Stamp Set and went pretty CAS. I started by coloring two of the images that I had stamped and fussy cut from the set. I’ve been on a kick of using my Prismacolors lately, so that’s what I pulled out and really wanting to create a snowball fight scene, I used the little girl and bunny that are both throwing snowballs. I also did quite a bit of die cutting. Here’s the rundown – Fancy Frames Die Set (large scalloped rectangle from red CS, large plain rectangle from green CS), Inside Scalloped CircleDies (Large circle 2X from white CS), Flag Banner Dies to cut sentiment, and Fall Border Dies to cut a snowy slope.
This scene was super simple to put together. I layered all the die cuts onto an A2 side folding card base that I made from white card stock. Most of the adhesive I used was plain double sided adhesive, however I did add some dimension to the snow bank and the sentiment banner.
For my second card I used the Holiday Hugs Stamp Set. After stamping a scene using quite a few of the adorable little images, I colored it in with my Prismacolor Colored Pencils (I told you I was on kick LOL!) and then fussy cut the top of the images, but left the ground. On an A2 side folding card base I blended on some Salty Ocean Distress Ink and using the new stencil, push through Whipped Spackle through to create a snowy background.
I also did a fair bit of die cutting on this card as well, here’s the run down for this card – Inside Scalloped Rectangle Die Set (largest rectangle from white card stock), Inside Scalloped Circle Die Set (flowers from red CS & leafy branches from green CS), & finally Stitched In Circle Dies (smallest circle for the sentiment). Again, this card was super simple to put together. I adhered the scene to the frame and popped them both up onto the card base. Finally, I adhered the sentiment circle, flowers, and branches into the top right and bottom left corners.
