Hello Everyone and welcome to the last stop on the Joy Clair Stamps New Release Blog Hop! This hop is pretty special, not only is the first release of 2018, but it is also the first blog hop with the brand new design team!! Now at this point if you haven’t been through the hop yet, be sure and scroll down to the list and start at the very beginning. The DT has some amazing projects today and you don’t want to miss any of the inspiration! Also, if you go through the blog hop and leave a comment saying what you favorite stamp set from this release is, your name will be entered into the drawing for a $25 Gift Card to the Joy Clair Stamps Shop.
This release there are 13 new sets being introduced into the shop, 6 from the Every Collection and 7 from the Color by Faith Series. For the blog hop today I got to play with the adorable new Gnome is Where the Heart Is, from the Everyday Collection. This is one of my favorites from the new release!! I couldn’t wait to start playing around and create a fun scene with these little gnomes and that mushroom house was just begging for me to color it up!! Does anyone else love mushrooms in their crafting as much as I do?? Lol! Be sure and watch the video tutorial below to see how I put this entire card together!!
As you can see from the title of the video this card does have quite a bit of dimension and in order to get that amount of dimension, I did quite a bit of die cutting and fussy cutting. However, if you have an electronic die cutting machine, Joy Clair Stamps does offer FREE SVG CUT FILES for all of their stamp sets!!! It automatically comes as a free download with your purchase, so no fussy cutting!! As for the rest of the die cutting, I kept everything pretty basic, using grass, clouds, a banner, rectangles and a picket fence.
I stamped all of my little images using my mini MISTI, but any acrylic will do, and I also used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then used my colored pencils and OMS to color and blend all of my little adorable stamped images, along with the help of some blending stumps.
In the photos you’ll also notice that I created a frame to help highlight my scene. Just to give the frame, which was super easy to make with two rectangle dies, a bit of interest, I put it into a wood grain embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine for that faux wood grain look! To finish off the card I added the Thanks! sentiment from the set, but this set has so many fantastic sentiments you could make this card for a number of occasions!
If you haven’t yet, be sure to hop along with the entire DT as we share projects featuring the entire new release from Joy Clair Stamps!
Let’s start the fun with the creativity and remember that we always have prizes for our readers and visitors that comment on the corporate blog and ALL the designer blogs during the hop! Just leave your comments and tell us which is your favorite stamp set!! Here is the complete list of the hop!!
