Hello Everyone!! And welcome back to my blog! Today, I am sharing something other than a card, which is Bible Journaling! Normally, in my Bible Journaling, I stick to stamping, but in today’s entry – which is also a rare double page spread- I will also be adding some doodling! Be sure to watch the entire video tutorial below to see exactly how I put today’s Bible Journaling layout together!
Before I even start stamping, I always like to lay out my stamps onto the page and sort of get a feel for the design. After deciding what I wanted to do, then it was time to pull out my waterproof black dye ink. On the right hand page in Psalm 51, I stamped the bath tub and the “Washed by the Blood” verse in the left hand margin. On the right page, I used a heart die, you could cut one by hand, and outlined it in the top right hand margin. Above the heart, I stamped the shower head and added water raining down with the same waterproof pen I used to outline the heart. Finally, I stamped the “Renew my Spirit” verse to the left of the shower head.
Using the same waterproof pen as before, I drew a “wavy” line all the way across the heart about halfway down. This is mean to resembled drip marks or something being washed off the heart. I also added a few little dots above the line for more interest. And then it was time to color.
You might’ve guessed because I chose to use waterproof ink and a waterproof pen, I knew I wanted to watercolor both pages. I chose to use my Distress Inks, but let me warn you, they DO bleed through and I mean a whole lot!! You can see exactly what I mean in the video tutorial above. And honestly I get a lot better results from my Sakura Koi watercolor palette. I felt like my Distress Inks separated a bit once they dried, especially the browns I used. But with my watercolor done, this two page spread was completely finished!
I hope you all enjoyed today’s video! If you are interested in the stamp set I used today, you will find it linked below.
