For this technique I made two cards, but I only used one stamp set – the Springtime Flowers Stamp Set. I am also stamping on 4″ x 5.25″ plain white card stock for both of my cards. I like to use plain card stock, instead of watercolor paper, for this technique because the color then soaks into the paper quicker and the color doesn’t sit on top of the paper for a longer time.
Also, on these cards I used watercolor markers for my wrong side stamping, but this technique can be done with ink pads, ink daubers, watercolors, really any wet medium that you can apply to your stamps. I just find the brush tip on my markers really convenient and precise for what I wanted to stamp out.
These cards were pretty simple to finish. I added sentiments on the outside and inside as well and added some stamping on the inside. I made a HUGE mistake on the inside of one of my cards (can you see it??). Be sure and watch above to see how I tried to hide it! Also watch to see how I used my new Creative Corners to make my panels for the outside sentiments! For both sentiments I used one of my favorites from Joy Clair, the Hello Sentiments set!
This is a really fun technique and I have some other stamp sets in mind that I want to use with it, so stay tuned! Also, this can be taken to so many levels and done in soo many different ways, so again stay tuned!! If you are interested in any of the Joy Clair sets I used on my cards for today, you will find them linked below. And don’t forget to go check out the challenge, happening now, on the Joy Clair Blog!! It’s super easy to play along with and you have the chance to win a prize!!
