There are so many wonderful techniques to use your MISTI for, but I am still in awe of it’s main and first purpose, making multiples of a project and having it stamp perfectly and in exactly the same place each and every time! So today, that’s exactly what I’m sharing in this video tutorial. Two different Bible Markers, made with Joy Clair Stamps, but making multiples of each. And with the help of my MISTI, each and everyone turned out beautiful! I also have a few bonus techniques thrown in, so be sure to watch the video tutorial below!
The first set of markers/bookmarks I made I used the Praise the Lord stamp set, from the Color by Faith Series. This set is so much fun and is perfect for teens and youth groups! I stamped my images in black pigment ink so I could heat emboss with clear embossing powder for a fun emboss resist technique. I kept the image the same, but switched up the sayings across the top.
With my images stamped and embossed, I used my ink brayer to lay down some distress ink I had spritzed with water. This made a fun and color watercolor background on each bookmark. I also switched up the colors across each one to make them all a little different. With this set, it might be a good idea to laminate, just to be extra cautious, and no color transfers at all.
My next set was soo simple and made with the Chain Breaker stamp set. I stamped and colored the chain onto the markers and added my sentiment over the top that I had heat embossed with white on black cardstock.
For each bookmark, I wanted to attached it to a slightly larger mat that I had created. To dress it up a bit, I added some die cut stitching to both sides that were on the mat. The final touch to add to all of the bookmarks was a hole punch in the top and a few strands of baker’s twine through each!
Both sets of bookmarks that I made today are super simple in their own rights, but with the help of my MISTI, they are a snap!
