Hello Everyone! I am so excited to be sharing a new video tutorial with you all. As Easter was so recent, I wanted to share an Easter themed Bible Journaling Set, but when combined with another set, can be used for other pages in your Bible. Thinking outside the box with all of your stamp sets and looking for new and different ways to use them is such an easy way to really get the most use out of all of your sets, even those that are holiday specific. So today’s video tutorial is exactly that, using an Easter Bible Journaling set for another page. I have also used this set before and you can check out that video tutorial HERE for even more ideas with this set. And the sentiment set has also been used by me for another video tutorial, which you can find HERE! Soo many ideas!!
My idea for this page was to fill the entire page with color and highlight the verse that corresponds with the sentiment by masking it and leaving it without any color whatsoever. I LOVE how easy this page came together and for the full run down, I would for sure watch the video tutorial above – it is full of tips and tricks! Starting with my stamping – after I masked the verse with painter’s tape, I used a black dye ink to stamp the cross from the My Redeemer stamp set and also a mask at the same time. Next up was the small dove and also a mask for it. Finally, was the verse stamp. This stamp came from the Faith Quotes stamp set. This set is a great one to have on hand and mix with other journaling sets or your own hand drawn designs! I also made a mask of the nail that is in the verse. All of my masks were made with masking paper so they would stay put while I added ink and blended over the top of them.
To create hills under the cross I simply used a black pen and traced a circle die, but you can use anything circular or create them by hand. To create my background I used Distress Inks. For the hills, I sponged on some Mowed Lawn and to create the sun I used Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, and Mustard Seed. The sun in the background may look complicated, but I promise, it is super easy to do and all you need besides Distress Inks (or any other type of easily blended ink) is painter’s tape or washi tape. For the full run down you can watch the video tutorial above.
Taking off all the masks is easy, you just have to take your time so you don’t rip the pages. The final step in creating this page was coloring in the stamped images. Any type of medium will work, but I chose to use my colored pencils. I also outlined the masked verse with my black pen and a ruler and this page was finished!
Sharing new projects with sets I’ve already used is one of my favorite things to do! This month, the entire Joy Clair design team is sharing new projects with some of our favorite sets, so be sure to check out the entire month for so much inspiration!!
