I think we all love different coloring mediums and some of us can’t even choose a favorite! I can, mine is colored pencils – specifically, colored pencils blended with OMS. But I have thought for a long time, you can’t get the pigment and brightness from colored pencils that you can from alcohol markers. Also, I have thought that colored pencils take A LOT longer than coloring with alcohol markers. So I did a little test for today’s video. I stamped and colored the exact same panel with two different mediums, alcohol markers and colored pencils, timed the process and used similar colors so I could compare pigmentation and the brightness. Watch the tutorial down below to see how I used the dimensional eyes I made previously as well!! Check that video out HERE!!
I am so glad I did this little experiment. Not only were colored pencils about the same amount of time as the alcohol markers, they were also so close to the brightness and pigmentation I got from alcohol markers – without the bleeding through the paper!
