Fall is my favorite time of year and today Joy Clair Stamps is celebrating the love of fall with a very special event sharing some of the brand new fall themed stamp sets! When I seen the new Thankful and Blessed stamp set I was sooo incredibly excited to use it! Sunflowers are my favorite flowers!! I love ALL types of sunflowers the regular yellow large flowers, small yellow teddy bears, all of the autumn mixes of colors! So when I seen a set with sunflowers included I couldn’t wait to get it inky. Today I have a video tutorial sharing how I did a little simple masking and made one little sunflower stamps into a full panel of sunflowers! You can watch the entire video tutorial down below!
This card may look complicated, but because it doesn’t really matter which flowers end up in front and which are behind, it is super simple and a great beginner project for masking. I made only two masks and just kept moving them around, repeatedly stamping the sunflower until I was happy with how it looked. All of the sunflowers from the Thankful and Blessed stamp set were stamped with a brown ink that I knew played well with my alcohol markers onto kraft cardstock.
After stamping all of the flowers, it was time to color them all in. Again, this looks complicated, but when you move around and color in sections it is super simple! I made all of my sunflowers yellow so that made it even easier! If you wanted to mix up the color scheme a little bit you could always do that, just be sure to take your time and make sure you are coloring all of the flowers and petals with the right color.
I finished off the outside panel with a sentiment stamped in brown dye ink from the same Thankful and Blessed stamp set and after putting the outside together, I moved onto the inside of the card. Again, I used the same stamp set and brown dye ink to stamp a finishing verse on the inside. Finally, using second generation stamping I used the cluster of pumpkins and sunflowers to add a quick bit of interest to the inside of the card!
