I REALLY love Joy Clair Stamps background stamps! They are wonderful to have on hand for a quick card or for techniques. Today, I want to share a fun and easy technique – emboss resist- to use with the new Falling Leaves background stamp from Joy Clair to really give you a quick and easy colorful background!
To start this card I really had no idea where it was going. Do you ever do that? Just start playing and hope something good comes out of it. I stamped the Falling Leaves background using my MISTI onto plain white cardstock with Versamark Ink. That way I could heat emboss the stamp with white. You really won’t be able to see the stamping at this point, but after blending ink over the background it will really pop! I used several Catherine Pooler Inks and blended them right over the top of the embossing with my mini ink blending tool. The embossing will stay white and resist the ink leaving behind a bright white pattern!
With the background done, I grabbed out a previously colored image from the Turkey Talk stamp set. I had made this image for another card that didn’t really work out, but I held onto the image and it happened to work perfectly for this card! I finished the outside and put the front of the card together, then moved onto the inside of the card. I love decorating the inside of my card too. It just adds so much more.
I hope you all enjoyed a look at a creative way to use the Joy Clair Stamps Falling Leaves Background Stamp! If you are interested in any of the supplies I used on my card today, you will find them all linked down below! Happy Crafting Everyone!!
