Hi everyone! Recently, I used the Crafter’s Essentials Easter Edition dies from Kat Scrappiness to make a few cards. One was a background made with the inlay technique, which you can find HERE. The other was a little scene with a fuzzy chick, which you can check out HERE! But those weren’t my first ideas when I laid eyes on this set. What I really wanted to do was fill the little basket with a chocolate bunny, but I need to figure out how to make it look realistic first! To see exactly how I did it, be sure to watch the video below!
I absolutely adore this die set! It has so many uses and, like I said above, I’ve already used it multiple times! So be sure to check those out! Making the little chocolate bunny can be done a few ways, but I didn’t want to buy any special embossing powders, so I used what I had on hand!
I started by cutting the bunny from chipboard. I use old cereal boxes for my chipboard! Then, I added several (around 4-5) layers of bronze embossing powder. If you have brown embossing powder, that would be even better! I didn’t have any so I went with a nice dark color. If you don’t have a brown or bronze, any embossing powder will do here!
When I was happy with the thickness, I let the powder cool down. Then, I added Staz On Pigment Ink in Chocolate Brown using a make up sponge. This gave a nice matte look to the bunny and a true chocolaty finish! To step it up even more, I added a few little Chocolate Cake Sprinkles from Kat Scrappiness to the top of the bunny for even more fun! Be sure to watch the video to see how I put the rest of the card together!
This was a really fun card to put together and I absolutely adore the little chocolate embellishment! I can’t wait to use the same technique to make cupcakes and fudge dipped ice cream!
If you are interested in any of the supplies I used today, you can find them all linked and listed down below. Until next time, Happy Crafting!!
