Joy Clair Stamps with Clear Scrap

All this week Joy Clair Stamps is teaming up with Clear Scraps to bring tons of fun and different inspiration using not only Joy Clair stamps but using them on some of the offerings from Clear Scraps. If you don’t know Clear Scraps offers some amazing pre-made and ready to finish albums, home decor products, signs, etc. So today, my project is a bit different from my everyday card and it’s super easy to do! Be sure to watch the video tutorial down below to see exactly how I put together my sign for today’s project!

While I won’t take you through the entire process (be sure to watch the video for that) I do want to share a few tips and tricks that helped me along the way. First, use the correct ink for stamping on wood! I like Staz On Pigment ink because of it’s opacity, but regular Staz On will work as well. You just need a permanent ink that isn’t going to bleed through the grain of the wood.

Finally, when stenciling I used a black heavy body acrylic paint. You can use a thinner/cheaper acrylic paint and get the exact same results, but either way work in thin layers! You will need less layers with the heavy body paint, but just keep layering THIN layers of paint until you get the coverage you’re looking for. I like to use make up wedges/sponges for this.

This was such a fun collaboration! I love creating home decor pieces and really stretching my creativity to come up with fun and different projects, other than cards from time to time! I also LOVE the way this sign turned out!!

If you are interested in any of the supplies I used on my sign today, you can find them all listed and linked down below. Until next time, happy crafting!!
