Hey everyone! Can you believe in just a bit it will be BACK TO SCHOOL!! It seems like summer has just started and already we are back to school shoe and clothes shopping, ordering new backpacks and lunch boxes, and gathering all the supplies. So crazy! But one bonus of back to school is I get to pull out all of my school/teacher themed stamps and make some fun tags and cards.
Today, I am sharing three different teacher “thank you” tags that are perfect to attach to a little gift and each one has a little “pun”. Watch the full video tutorial down below for all the details!!
My first tag is probably my favorite! I first die cut two zig zag circle dies from white card stock and one from a light blue/teal cardstock. One white circle I stamped the “Thanks for making me a smart cookie” sentiment and on the other I sponged the edges with brown dye ink. These two circles I glued back to back and after punching a hole at the top, added a piece of twine.
With the base done, it was time to work on the icing. I used the blue circle and cut (with scissors) inside the stitching. And I cut “wonky”. I also sponged these edges for added depth. The final touch was adding the sprinkles! This took some time, but was well worth the effort!
My second tag is a lot of fun and so easy to make! Using a “homemade” stencil I very lightly ink blended on clouds to my homemade tag. I should mention that I cut this tag with my paper, and it’s super easy to do so. You start with a rectangle and mark the center at the top of the rectangle. Then mark about an inch down on both sides. Line up the side mark and the top center mark in your paper trimmer and cut! All that you need to do is punch in a hole and you’re good to go!
Ok, back to the decorating. After ink blending the clouds, I stamped the “BEE” sentiment on the tag and also on scrap paper. I quickly colored in and fussy cut the little bee from the scrap paper so I could pop it up for added dimension on the main tag. Finally, I added a few die cut clouds to the tag for a bit more interest. And to add even more to the clouds, I die cut them from Deco Foil Flock sheets!
The third and final tag I made requires the least supplies. I started by stamping and then masking a sentiment in the center of another “homemade” tag. Then, with the apple stamp, I created a quick background. I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink so I could color with my alcohol markers and not worry about any bleeding.
After quickly coloring the apples, I knew I needed to cover the back of this tag. As you know alcohol markers bleed through the paper, so the back wasn’t that pretty! I added a quick kraft mat and twine to finish this tag off!
I hope you all enjoyed today’s tutorial and a look at these three different and fun teacher thank you tags! If you are interested in any of the supplies I used today, you can find them all listed and linked down below. Happy Crafting!!
