This month Joy Clair Stamps is partnering with Rinea Foil so I am having fun coming up with some fun new ways to use it! Today, I have a few backgrounds (surprise, surprise) to share with you that are fairly easy and oh so shiny! Be sure to watch the video tutorial below for all the details!!
Some products used in the video above were sent to me free of charge for design purposes. I only ever design for companies I can stand behind 100%. To see who I am currently and have previously designed for head HERE.
So here’s the run down on Rinea foil paper if you are unfamiliar with this product. It is a foil paper that has so much shine and there are a ton of different colors to choose from. It comes in packages of individual colors or you can purchase variety packs that are color coordinated. What makes this products different from other shiny foil paper is that it is moldable. It will hold it’s shape, so it’s perfect for any 3D projects you might want to make with it!!
To create my first background I started by die cutting each colors from the Pastel Variety pack of foil, plus silver, with a scalloped border die. I made sure to move the border slightly each time I cut, so not each piece was the exact same. Then, I adhered each of those strips on top of one another onto an A2 card base. To be the foil stuck really well, I used a tape adhesive.
When I had the right side completely covered with “scales” I started on the left side panel. I used the new Mermaid at Heart stamp set to add the perfect stamped images to complete the card!
My second background is a little more involved, but just take your time and lay everything out and it will come together. I started with the large foil sheets of the Floral Variety pack and cut the three colors down to A2 sized sheets. These are thin sheets so you can easily cut through three of them layered on top of one another. I cut all of the sheets at different angles, being sure to lay each piece off to the side so I could easily piece them back together. I then added the pieces back together, using all the different colors so I had a fun and colorful geometric background.
Be sure to watch the video above for tips and tricks, plus some things I learned while creating this background!
To finish this card I cut down the background with a zig zag rectangle die. Then, I added a cluster of different gems from the You’re a Gem stamp set. Super simple!
I LOVE these backgrounds. They were both fairly easy and add so much shine without a ton of work! If you are interested in any of the supplies I used on my projects today, you can find them all listed and linked down below. Until next time, happy crafting!!
