It has been awhile since I have done any Bible Journaling, I’m ashamed to say. To be honest, I’m still not 100% comfortable with my journaling skills and it intimidates me. But I just keep telling myself it’s ok to be SIMPLE and be yourself! So that’s what I’m sharing today – A VERY simple Bible journaling page. If you want to watch the process of creating this very simple journaling page, you can watch the tutorial below!!

The Video Tutorial
In the video above I use some products that were sent to me free of charge for design purposes. I only will ever design for and accept product from companies I can stand behind 100%. To see who I currently or have previously designed for head HERE.
The Process of Journaling Romans 5:8
For my journaling project I am using two different stamp sets from the Joy Clair Stamps Color by Faith Series. They are “Salt & Light” and “Scriptures of Love“. But overall this page was put together very simply. Let me break down the process for you!
I started with the Salt & Light stamp set, specifically the small light bulb included in the set. I stamped the light bulb with a light gray dye ink. And finally, I stamped the little bursts under the lightbulb.

With my image stamped, I moved onto ink blending. I masked off an area beneath the light bulb with a delicate surface painter’s tape. And then, with yellow dye ink and my Amazon make up blending brushes I ink blended under that masked area. This created what looks lik a burst of light from the bulb itself!
There was only one problem with my little scene. It looked as though the light bulb was just floating in mid air. WHOOPS!! To correct that problem, I used my Micron pen and a ruler to draw a line to the top of the page. Also, I used my Micron pen to add that little heart “wire” in the lightbulb. Just adding those little hand drawn portions into my journaling really give my pages more of a sense of being MINE.

Next in this process was adding my focal verse. You can write yours in, but I’m not in love with my handwriting so I turn to stamps. I used the “Scriptures of Love” stamp set from the Joy Clair Color by Faith series and Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

Finally, I highlighted the focal verse with my Micron pen so I could immediately be drawn to it when I open this page in the future!

A Few Tips For Journaling in Your Bible
- Tuck a scrap piece of paper or a page protector BEHIND the Bible page you are working on. This will catch any bleed through that may occur and keep your pages behind nice and clean!
- Test your products in the back of you Bible. There are always a few blank pages at the very back of your Bible and this is a great place to test your products out!
- There was a time when I felt like I couldn’t keep using my verse stamps once they had been stamped in my Bible. But, I was SO wrong! A few ideas are book marks, Bible markers, handmade greeting cards, and gift tags and that’s just a few ideas!
I hope you all enjoyed a look at how I put this journaling page together and it inspired you!
