Making the Handmade Card

This card is so simple to make. It’s really only stamping and coloring. Perfect to take on the go or hae to color while you’re home during this time. I started by stamping the little bunny and his umberella onto an oval die cut. I also stamped a background directly onto the cardbase using the rainbow, umberella, and little carrot. For all of the stamping I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink because I knew I would be coloring the images with colored pencils and OMS.

Here’s a closer look at the coloring on the background. Like I said above, I used colored pencils and OMS to color in everything on this card. To learn more about this coloring medium head HERE to watch my video ALL about coloring with colored pencils and OMS.
When coloring large backgrounds like this, where the image is repeated over and over, I like to color in everything that is going to be the same color at once. What I mean by that is I colored every red section while I had the color in my hand, then blended. And moved through my colors until the background was complete. This saves quite a bit of time in switching out colors and really helps with mistakenly coloring different sections or images the wrong color!

Then, it was onto coloring the little bunny. I wanted to bring in a few colors from the background to the main focal point. This helps give the card a more cohesive look when it’s finished. I pulled in the same umberella colors and also a bit of yellow for the rain boots!

The final step, before assembly, was adding a small sentiment to the right side of my stamped image. I used the Hello sentiment from the stamp set and stamped it in black.
To assemble this card I matted the oval with a slightly larger oval that I die cut from black cardstock. Then, I added those ovals to the card base with dimensional adhesive!
I hope you all enjoyed a look at today’s card made with the new release from Not 2 Shabby. This is a great one to make if you have some time to color!
