Last month was a whirlwind of new releases from Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps. I didn’t get as many videos posted as I would have liked, but with five different blog hops I just didn’t have the time. But I did record the process of creating each card, so I still want to share the tutorial with you all, which is exactly what I’m doing today. The card I’m sharing today is my final card from last month, but it’s my favorite. Be sure to watch the video tutorial below for all the details on how I added simple dimension to this handmade birthday card.
The Video Tutorial
The video above contains products that were sent to me free of charge for design purposes. I only ever design for companies I can stand behind 100%! This post also contains affiliate links.
All About This Handmade Birthday Card
This card looks complicated, but the it’s all because of a very simple technique! The first thing I did was stamp the new Large Sunflower stamp two times with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Use whatever ink will work best with your coloring medium of choice! Then I colored the leaves on one of the images and the flower of the other. Next, I fussy cut both of the colored portions right on the stamped lines and went over the cut edges with a black markers.

Then, it was time to put the images back together! I adhered both portions to a piece of cardstock that I had added a light blue ink blended background to. But to be sure to make the image look a bit more 3 dimensional, I first adhered the leaves with just plain liquid adhesive. Finally, I added the flower with dimensional foam adhesive. This allows the flower to be on another level from the leaves, which gives it a more realistic look!

The sentiment on the outside of this card is also from the new release. It’s called “Hugs, Kisses and Wishes“. It is one of the longer sentiments and it has a matching Happy Birthday sentiment as well, which I used on the inside of the card!

Here’s a look at the inside of the card! I used the new “Birthday 1” sentiment to finish it off!

Don’t Forget the Freebies!
On my card, I did use paper from one of my free paper packs that you can find HERE!!!

I hope you all enjoyed another look at this card and the video tutorial! If you are interested in any of the supplies I used today, you can find them all listed and linked down below. Until next time, happy crafting!!
